INCONEL nichel - cromo lega 625 (UNS N06625. 2,4856) viene utilizzato per la sua alta resistenza, eccellente fabricability (unirsi compreso) ed eccellente resistenza alla corrosione. Gamma di temperature di servizio da criogenico a 1800° F (982° C).
Forza della lega 625 di INCONEL è derivata dall'effetto d'irrigidimento di molibdeno e niobio sulla sua matrice del nichel-bicromato di potassio; quindi trattamenti di indurimento per precipitazione non sono richiesti. Questa combinazione di elementi è inoltre responsabile della resistenza superiore a una vasta gamma di ambienti corrosivi della severità insolita come pure agli effetti ad alta temperatura quali l'ossidazione e la carburazione.
